Whether you are looking to protect from flooding, soil erosion or polution Revetment has a number of solutions to fit the bill. Often permanent flood solutions can alter the flows of rivers, cause disruption to wildlife and their habitat and spoil valuable views for the communities affected. temporary and in-situ barriers are intended to address these issues by offering flood protection when it is required whilst also maintaining the status quo as much as possible for property owners and nature itself
In-situ Flood Barrier
In-situ barriers can be fabricated as high as 2.2m and to withstand wave action so they make ideal sea walls where height restrictions on permanent solutions might raise planning issues and objections. The dam is installed into a shallow trough well above any services and the top can be dressed to match any hard surfacing already in place such as paving slabs, block paviers, cobbles, 等.
Temporary flood barrier
Rivers containing mussel beds might be detrimentally effected by the creation of a permanent flood barrier that could cause scour in different places or alter the flow of the river permanently. A temporary Rapidam flood barrier has the benefits of providing flood protection when it is required whilst preserving the natural habitat of wildlife and preserving natural river flows.
Slope and erosion control
Slopes that lack natural growth are susceptible to slip and can also be undermined by animal burrowing. If this slope is part of an earth defence for flooding then a continued and costly maintenance programme is required. The use of Concrete Cloth will help to reduce this maintenance burden by strengthening the slope and preventing soil erosion. It can be coloured to match its surroundings and it can also be overplanted using coir matting or honeycomb soil retention units to preserve that natural feel. Long lasting solutions with up to 20 years life are acheivable.
Pollution barriers
If a stream or water source has been contaminated the SpilStop barrier can be used to stop the contamination from spreading or entering a shared water supply until the contamination can be removed properly.
