Originally designed for use by the military to reinforce sandbag emplacements it offers the same durability for old and ageing gabions. The canvas can be connected to the gabion cage using rings to hold it in place. Covering the back of a gabion before installing can offer increased water protection and erosion and covering the front could extend its life by another 20 years or more.
